Kings Island Announces Diamondback

Diamondback, Coming in 2009 to Kings Island!Kings Island today announced Diamondback, their 2009 B&M hypercoaster. Diamondback will be 230ft tall,  have over a mile of track, 10 total drops with a splash down finale - not to mention one twisted layout that is sure to turn heads.

I must say I am very impressed at what I see and will definitely be there opening day.

An update

Sorry for the slow updates this past week or so. I finished up my summer job and just got engaged to my girlfriend (now fiance). Come Friday I will be taking a much needed vacation for a week and a half. I’m sure some of the other staff will be posting during this time, but I just wanted to apologize for the delay. The regular posts will return soon.

Laser is out of here

Dorney posted the Laser for sale two months ago on UsedRides.com. Well UsedRides has updated it’s site and it shows the Laser as being sold. Get your last rides in this season as Dorney is losing a gem of a coaster. I’m pretty bummed out about this one, at least we have some warning this time unlike when they removed the Hercules without so much as a press release.

Track on site at KI

We all know a hyper is coming to Kings Island for 2009, but they already have track on site. The coaster is rumored to be named “Mustang” and features a deep red track. This is going to be a home run for KI. The coaster will also be the first traditional hyper to feature a water splash. Blueprints for the ride can be found here.

KIExtreme.com has posted a bunch of photos of the track pieces that have shown up along with some construction progress. It should be fun watching this coaster go up as they have started construction in the middle of the season.
